Every day, as we choose our physical attire, we must also put on the spiritual wardrobe outlined in Ephesians 6:10-18: the Armor of God. This powerful imagery prepares us for life’s challenges and spiritual battles.
The Armor Explained
- Belt of Truth: Secure yourself with the truth of God’s Word (John 8:32). It anchors us against deception.
- Breastplate of Righteousness: Protect your heart by living in righteousness. Philippians 1:11 tells us that righteousness bears fruit through Christ.
- Shoes of the Gospel of Peace: Be ready to share the Good News. Ephesians 6:15 reminds us that we bring peace wherever we go.
- Shield of Faith: Your faith protects against doubts (Romans 10:17). Stay rooted in the Word to strengthen it.
- Helmet of Salvation: Guard your mind with assurance of salvation (1 Thessalonians 5:8). This keeps your thoughts aligned with God’s purpose.
- Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God is our offensive weapon (Hebrews 4:12). Engage with Scripture daily to stay prepared.
A Grateful Reminder
Putting on the Armor of God empowers us for life’s challenges and helps us embody His truth and love. As you dress each morning, remember to spiritually armor yourself and reflect Christ in all that you do. What you wearing?
