When you fly on an airplane, the pilot asks the crew – his assistants (the flight attendants) to prepare the passengers for take-off. But this thought and message came to me, as the flight attendants go over the safety measure and instructions.

Being somewhat a frequent flyer, I must admit that I rarely ever give my full attention to these instructions and guides. On my most recent trip, I realized that I am not the only person that ignores or is less than attentive to these important safety information. As we took off today, and the airplane ascended to the skies and then entered into a little turbulence, for a second it came across my thoughts, what if something happened? I asked myself, do you remember the instructions? With my eyes peeled like a shocked emoji 😳, I decided to 1)- commit everyone on this 737 jet in the hands of my savior Jesus Christ, and 2) penned these thoughts that the Holy Spirit revealed to me.

So here we are and I want to encourage us to pay attention to the ordinances and commands given to us by God our Father, the pilot of our lives. I want to believe and further note that those instructions are set before as guides for when we face those challenging situations or those ‘true-life emergencies’. And this could be reason why we get so overwhelmed and depressed when those circumstances arise in this journey called life, simply because we did not pay attention or truly listened to God. The one thing, I know is that we get those commands, but we sometimes lean to our ideas and ways, we simply disregard the words of God. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 KJV

Can you go back and get the information or see these guides? Yes, you can, because unlike when inflight where the attendance doesn’t rerun that safety information after taking off, our Heavenly Father cares way more – He gave us His Word. Even, through avenues like that of the Pastor man and less traditional channels like this. However, the Bible is one of the greatest books of how-tos; it contains the Word of God- the ultimate guide. And a gentle reminder, if I may, please be attentive to the Word. You may need to commit the Word to memory, just in case you need to apply it to those “emergencies” life throws our way.

And so as we prepare, plan, and strategize for our life to ‘take flight’ to our purposed and desired destinations, some persons may even be in the process of planning their next big move, some are probably being placed in full gear as we speak, some are on the way, I implore you please take the Word of God with you. There will be for sure some bumps ahead or in some cases turbulence, but because we listened to the instructions we can now navigate those circumstances with the application of the Word of God. Enjoy your life flight and safe landing into your destiny and dreams!
